Daltonganj, September 12: Twelve companies of the CRPF belonging to the 112 battalion, based at Chiyanki in Palamu, have pushed out from here for Silchar in Assam, said well-placed sources in the security set-up.

A special train with 16 coaches took them off from Daltonganj railway station for Silchar in Assam.

The 16-coach empty rake had come to Daltonganj railway station from Dhanbad.

It was hired for around 70 lakhs of rupees.

The 16 coaches comprised 4 sleeper coaches, 1 AC coach, 3 SLR (sitting cum luggage rake) and 8 VPU (luggage vans).

Daltonganj railway station superintendent Umesh Kumar said, “We had kept our railway line 6 free for our jawans and officials to board this train bag and baggage for Silchar in Assam. We had ensured no inconvenience was caused to them.”

The railway line 6 is exclusively for offloading bags of food grains, cement, and fertilisers but for the CRPF it was kept open to the CRPF till their special train left for the new destination Silchar in Assam.

Umesh Kumar declined to elaborate on it any more.
