Jamshedpur, Nov 27: Raising their voices against visible and invisible inequalities, teenage girls participated in a 16-day campaign against gender-based violence organized by Yuva Sanstha (Youth Unity for Voluntary Action) and Women Gaining Ground Consortium, Kriya New Delhi.
The event took place at Kasturba Gandhi Residential School, where a poster-writing and quiz competition was held to promote the theme, “From Inequality to Equality: Everyone Counts Equally.”
The campaign emphasized that building an equal society requires breaking down visible and invisible barriers of inequality. Participants highlighted the need for collective action to combat gender-based violence, urging communities to unite and work together toward equality.

School warden Reena expressed the importance of such initiatives, stating, “These programs create awareness among girls and empower them to recognize and address gender inequality and violence.”
The poster-writing competition saw enthusiastic participation, with Baisakhi Mahato and Riya Tudu taking first place, followed by Chhata Mani Tudu and Khushboo Mahato in second place. Sanjana Munda won third place, Rekha Rani Tudu fourth place, and Sukhmati Bankira and Sangeeta Mahato received consolation prizes.
The success of the event was credited to the efforts of adolescent leaders and youth workers who played a vital role in organizing and executing the program.
