Dhanbad, Oct 15: A coordinated operation by the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB), and the Railway Police (GRP) Dhanbad successfully rescued three minors and arrested two child traffickers from the Deoghar–Vasco Da Gama Express train.

According to RPF officials, the minors were being transported from Deoghar district to Karnataka under the pretext of providing them work in a power plant. Acting on a tip-off, the joint team conducted a search operation on the train at Dhanbad station.

Two of the children were apprehended in the general bogie of the train at Dhanbad, while the third child was identified and brought down safely at Katras station.

The traffickers, identified as Harilal Ram from Uttar Pradesh and Jamdar Languri from Chaibasa, West Singhbhum, were also arrested from the general bogie.

During interrogation, the rescued minors revealed that the traffickers had promised their parents jobs at the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) in Karnataka.
All three rescued minors were sent to Bokaro Sahyog Village for safety, and their parents in Deoghar were informed.

The rescue operation was carried out by a team comprising Manisha Kumari, Ram Prasad, Sanjiv Kumar Singh, Kundan Kumar Prabhakar, Anil Kumar, and Sushil Kumar.
