Ranchi, January 10: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a Jharkhand based-subsidiary of Coal India Ltd, organised a day-long “Special Vendor Development Programme for SC/ST and Women MSEs entrepreneurs, which is aimed at promoting their business.

50 entrepreneurs

More than 50 such entrepreneurs participated in this programme at the Ranchi CCL headquarters.

GeM portal

The programme aimed to motivate underprivileged community entrepreneurs to register their firms at the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Portal. This portal is the Public Procurement Portal for procurement of goods and services for all Central Government and State Government Ministries, Departments, and Public Sector Units (PSUs) from the GeM portal.

CCL procures many products from the GeM portal as well as services from the GeM portal.

While addressing the budding entrepreneurs, Ayush Aggarwal, Director-Ministries and CPSEs, GeM, New Delhi, said that the Central Government provides a huge opportunity to promote business among SC-ST and women Entrepreneurs in Jharkhand.

Special vendor programme

He lauded CCL for organising a special vendor programme for the reserved categories.

Indrajit Yadav, Joint Director-MSME -DFO, appreciated the company’s efforts in organising such interactive sessions with local SC-ST and women entrepreneurs who wish to increase their business with CPSUs.

Kiran Maria Tiru, Sr. Branch Manager NSSHO- Ranchi urged the local SC-ST & Women Entrepreneurs to seek help from CCL and register themselves at the GeM Portal for marketing their products.

Shyam Narayan Mahto, GM(MM), CCL, delivered a welcome address and said that CCL is committed to maximising procurement from the GeM Portal so that SC/ST & women entrepreneurs and others benefit.

Government schemes

Discussions were held on various government schemes for increasing the participation of MSMs in tenders such as Make in India, Public Procurement Policies, etc.
