Jamshedpur, Dec 25: The Adityapur Auto Cluster will host a two-day Defence Expo on January 16 and 17, aimed at linking local MSMEs with India’s rapidly expanding defence manufacturing sector and creating new business avenues for small and medium industries.

The expo is being organised by the Adityapur Small Industries Association (ASIA) in association with the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Laghu Udyog Bharati.

Ahead of the event, ASIA office-bearers led by president Inder Agrawal today met Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth and sought his support to ensure the participation of key defence manufacturing units, including the Vehicle Factory, Jabalpur.

They also requested that defence officials attend the expo with details of import-substitution requirements to help local industries identify indigenisation opportunities.

The organisers have proposed B2B interactions between defence procurement agencies and MSMEs during the expo to facilitate direct engagement and meaningful business outcomes.

A structured follow-up after the event has also been planned to review its impact.

Addressing the delegation, Sanjay Seth said nearly 17,000 MSMEs are already engaged with the defence sector, underlining the vast scope for further participation by Indian industries.
