Jharkhand News: BBMKU Dhanbad teachers yet to get Association’s mail ID to share problems

Dhanbad, January 12: The newly elected body of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University Teachers Association (BBMKUTA) still needs to create its group mail ID 10 days after the executive committee meeting.

Service confirmation of newly appointed 2018 batch teachers and the pending promotion of 2008 batch teachers are burning issues for BBMKU teachers.

In the Teachers Association poll on December 20, almost all 13 candidates of different posts sailed through the election, making these issues their main manifestos.

Gmail group

After the first executive meeting of BBMKUTA on January 5, General Secretary Dr Amulya Suman Beck told media persons that elected members unanimously resolved to create a Gmail group in which concerned teachers of the 2008 batch and 2018 batch would upload their issues of promotion and confirmation respectively so that on priority basis this matter could be solved as soon as possible.

First executive committee meeting

Only vice-president Dr Sarmila Acharyya (Sindri College Sindri) and secretary  Dr Ashutosh Rahul Tirkey were absent at the first executive meeting. Other 11 elected office bearers, president Dr DK Singh, vice-presidents- Dr Avinash Kumar, Dr Kirom Rashmi, Dr Anamika Kujur, Dr Rampravesh, general secretary Dr Amulya Suman Beck, secretary Dr Binita Soreng, Dr Alisha Vandna Lakra, Dr Priyanjana Hansda, Dr David Murmu and treasurer Dr Ajit Narayan Das were present and took several decisions.

However, until January 13, Gmail group has yet to be created by the new body so concerned teachers could upload their claims.

BBMKUTA spokesperson

When contacted today, newly appointed BBMKUTA spokesperson Dr DK Singh ( Bokaro Steel City College Bokaro) admitted that the Gmail group had yet to be created. “The General Secretary (Dr Amulya Suman Beck) had assigned me to create, but it has not been made due to engagement in examination and academic activities. However, it will be created soon,” said Dr Singh.

A senior university teacher said that service confirmation of the maximum number of teachers of the 2018 batch has almost been done. However, the promotion of the 2008 batch teachers is still pending. The proposal has been pending with the university and Raj Bhawan for years. But now it is the responsibility of elected representatives to take up the issue, he added.
