Dhanbad, Sept 23: The Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Society of BIT Sindri organised an orientation session for the newly admitted batch of 2024 at the ECE Department’s conference room.

The event aimed to familiarise the freshers with the course structure and give them insights into their academic journey.

Faculty welcomes freshers with course insights

Dr MG Tiwary, Head of the ECE Department, along with senior faculty member Dr. Imteyaz Ahmed, and other faculty members addressed the students, offering a detailed overview of the ECE course syllabus and its relevance in today’s technological world.

The faculty also provided an introduction to the department’s laboratory sessions, which play a crucial role in honing students’ practical skills.

During the session, the freshers were also introduced to key tools commonly used in the electronics industry, including MATLAB and Scilab, ensuring they gained early exposure to essential software in their field.

Faculty members address program

Interactive quizzes and senior guidance

The orientation program included engaging quizzes, where students actively participated, showcasing their enthusiasm for their new academic journey.

Senior students, along with ECE Society office bearers, including President Akash Kumar, Vice-President Priyanshu Katyani, and Secretary Rohit Kumar, took the opportunity to address the newcomers.

They provided valuable guidance on coping with campus life and how to build confidence in managing academic pressures. The seniors also shared insights on how to enhance technical knowledge and gain practical experience early on, offering crucial advice for a successful academic career.

“The orientation served as a crucial first step for students embarking on their ECE careers, setting a strong foundation for their future endeavours,” said the ECE Society office bearers following the programme.

The session helped freshers understand the importance of balancing theoretical knowledge with practical skills from the very beginning.
