Dhanbad, March 10: Students of BIT Sindri donated 150 units of blood in a special camp jointly organized under the aegis of the National Service Scheme (NSS) BIT Sindri and Madhumita Edu Med Foundation at the institution’s Health Centre today.

Prof. Raghunandan, professor in charge of the National Service Scheme, BIT Sindri and Gopal Bhattacharya, director of Madhumita Edu Med Foundation, jointly inaugurated the blood donation camp and highly appreciated the donors.

On the occasion, the chief guest, Prof. Raghunandan, shed light on the importance of blood donation and said that “ blood donation is a very pious act because by donating blood a person helps in saving the life of a needy person”.

Prof. RK Verma praised the blood donors in the camp and advised the students to donate blood in the future.

On this occasion, all the blood donors were given juice and breakfast and were encouraged by giving mementoes and certificates. Over 150 units of blood were donated in the camp.

On the occasion, professor In-charge of National Service Scheme BIT Sindri, Prof. Raghunandan and Madhumita, Founder of Edu Med Foundation, Gopal Bhattacharya, Lalita Singh, President of National Service Scheme BIT Sindri, Vivek Kumar, Secretary Priyanshu Keshari and other volunteers remained present till last student donated.
