Dhanbad, April 30: Prayash India, a spirited organization of BIT Sindri students, braved the scorching heat to stage a street play at various locations. Their aim was to inspire and raise awareness among voters about the upcoming election.

Sindri township

The Prayash India team’s first Nukkad Natak was staged at the heart of Sindri township, Shaharpura roundabout, and at the main gate of their institution, BIT Sindri.   The programme drew a massive gathering at both places, and the audience’s high appreciation for their performance and awakening for voting was a source of pride.

Importance of voting

A rally was held from Domgarh to the Tasra area of the region. The members of Prayash India took this opportunity to make people aware of the importance of voting and appealed to them to select an honest leader as their candidate in the election, emphasizing the urgency of the cause.

Rainbow 24

Though Prayash India has kicked off its annual sports fest Rainbow  24, keeping the Lok Sabha election in mind, it has included a poll awareness programme as a sports event. Besides Nukkad Natak, Prayash India has also decided to hold a rally for awareness. The election for the Dhanbad Lok Sabha seat is scheduled for May 25.

“The main aim of staging a Nukkad Natak and holding rallies was to create awareness among people regarding voting. Both programmes became successful as people turned up in large numbers to watch our demonstration and promised to exercise their franchisee,” said office bearers of Prayash India team.

Career Development Centre

Earlier, senior faculty member and Career Development Centre (CDC) chairman Prof Ghanshyam inaugurated the annual sports fest  Rainbow 24 and highly appreciated its decision to include  Nukkad Nataka and a rally in sports events.

Prof Ghanshyam said that for the holistic development of students, sports activities are a major part.

Besides present office bearers of Prayash India, former members Ravi Kumar and Abhishek Kumar also immensely contributed to making the programme successful.
