Ranchi, August 21: A disturbing incident has been reported from the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, under Mesra OP, where an MBA student was harassed and attacked with a blade inside the campus.
The shocking incident has sparked anger among students, who have launched protests questioning the campus security arrangements.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night when a group of miscreants entered the campus and harassed the student. When she resisted, the attackers assaulted her with a blade, leaving her seriously injured.

She was immediately rushed to a nursing home, where she is undergoing treatment. The attack has left the student community stunned and furious.
Students Launch Protest
Following the incident, BIT students gathered in large numbers and staged a protest near the administrative building late at night.
They are demanding the immediate arrest of those involved and stronger security measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
As part of their agitation, students have boycotted classes today, intensifying their protest.
Anger Over Security Lapses
Police reached the spot and tried to pacify the protesting students, but they remained firm on their demands. Students alleged that the incident exposes serious lapses in campus security.

They said the fact that outsiders could enter the campus and carry out such an attack reflects gross negligence on the part of the college administration.
They have called on all students to unite in the protest to ensure strict punishment for the culprits. Meanwhile, no official statement has yet been issued by the college administration on this grave matter.
