Jamshedpur, April 10: A Gamharia-based businessman and a JMM activist were injured as a gang of four criminals lobbed a bottle-bomb near the Teachers’ Training Institute in Gamharia under Adityapur thana area late on Tuesday night.
The bottle-bomb attack took place when the businessman Ajay Pratap Singh and the JMM activist Uttam Das alias Babu Das were engaged in conversation close to the latter’s SUV behind MTC Mall near the Teachers’ Training Institute at around 9.30 pm.

Those who lobbed the bottle-bomb were on foot and had disappeared from the crime scene having attacked the duo.
As a result of the attack, both the victims were injured, with the businessman sustaining a bit of serious injuries.
Soon after the incident, the locals rushed both the injured to the Gamharia-based government-run urban primary health centre from where Singh was shifted to Tata Main Hospital.

Police probing issue, CCTV footage collected
About half an hour later Adityapur thana OC, Nitin Kumar Singh and Seraikela SDPO, Santosh Kumar Mishra reached the spot and carried out the preliminary investigation.
“We are yet to get it ascertained who the attackers were and whom they had targeted. Today, we have succeeded in collecting CCTV footage of the bomb attack and are trying to find out the culprits,” said the OC, while talking to The Jharkhand Story.
Nitin Kumar Singh said one of the victims, Babu Das has criminal records and was attacked by unknown criminals at Gamharia on the night of July 3 last year.
The OC said they have started an investigation into the bomb attack and are to take statements from both Ajay Pratap Singh and Babu Das.
