Jamshedpur, Nov 22: Panic gripped the main entrance of Tatanagar railway station on Saturday morning when a parked Honda Jazz (JH 05 BN 5846) suddenly caught fire around 9 a.m.
The vehicle belonged to Gamharia resident Srinivas Nayak, who had come with his wife to see off their son boarding the Duronto Express.
On returning from the station premises, they were shocked to find their car engulfed in flames.

Fortunately, no one was inside the vehicle at the time, averting a major mishap.

Railway Police, local police personnel and the fire brigade rushed to the spot.
With the fire spreading rapidly, a JCB machine was also pressed into service to assist the firefighting operation.
After nearly 30 minutes of effort, the blaze was brought under control.
Traffic outside the station was disrupted for a short duration but soon resumed normal flow.
Initial reports point to a suspected technical fault, though the exact cause is still under investigation.

A large crowd gathered to witness the incident, but police quickly cleared the area to ensure safety.
While there were no injuries, the car was completely gutted in the fire, causing chaos and alarm in the station vicinity.
