Daltonganj, July 21: The steep decline in the attendance of the students in their respective government middle schools in the contiguity of the village Palhe Kalan in the aftermath of the sudden and abrupt surge of communal frenzy in the last leg of Muharram here, has been quite adroitly and patiently controlled and contained by a team of the CBM (Confidence Building Measure) comprising SDO Chhaterpur Ashish Gangwar, SDPO Sadar Mani Bhushan Prasad and DSE Sandeep Kumar.

The CBM team walked and talked in the village Palhe Kalan, Sadhpur, Gametha etc where the team used a heart-to-heart approach without either mincing any word or keeping words in mouths.

The CBM team’s intention was loud and pious on the issue of children’s education to remain smooth and going.

The CBM team has helped in restoring the torn psyche of the two communities in the principle of coexistence.

The CBM team was profusely open to all. There was nothing as such sermonising but a simple talk about children should not miss their class teaching and parents should come forward to sending their wards to their schools.

Neutral and Inclusive Approach Gains Trust

The CBM team was careful so as not to give any of the two communities, majority and minority, any reason or chance to feel more accountable to than the other; rather the team made the two communities convinced that children deserve a fair deal and the fair deal is they be sent to their respective schools without any delay or loss of day.

Schools Witness Joyful Return of Students

Parents and guardians, specially the women folks, trusted the CBM team and on Monday there was a big reverse. Children of both the communities joyfully went to their schools.

SDO Chhaterpur Ashish Gangwar said the schools that saw thin attendance in the past few days have now made a spectacular comeback which is a sign of goodness, trust and confidence of each of the two communities in the other.

Sadar SDPO Mani Bhushan Prasad said, “Our interaction and interfacing with the people of the locality helped build positivity of the situation.”

The element of distrust has to be replaced by a feeling of community participation. Ashish Gangwar sounded confident that the CBM exercise was a well in time endeavour where confidence and trust of the two communities were not in any short shrift.
