Dhanbad, June 14: Senior leader and Congress State Disciplinary Committee chairman Brajendra Prasad Singh has asked the Jharkhand government to decide on sand lifting immediately as development works in the state are completely paralyzed.
Singh, in a letter to the chief minister, has pointed out that the state is facing an acute crisis of sand. “Government works, road construction, and building construction works are hampered by a lack of sand. The public too is facing massive trouble as sand lifting has been banned for more than one year,” he said.
“So, keeping this in mind a temporary arrangement of sand lifting through deputy commissioner of districts should be made till the government forms a sand policy and sand ghats are auctioned,” said Brajendra Prasad Singh.
The Congress leader said that a long-time ban on sand lifting would be a major stumbling block in the development of Jharkhand. Moreover, sand is being theft on a large scale in each district of the state which causes major revenue loss to the government, he added.
