Jamshedpur, Oct 5: Former MP and senior Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar took an initiative to support the auto drivers of Jamshedpur by distributing driving license application forms at the Sakchi auto stand on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ajoy Kumar emphasized the importance of auto rickshaws as the backbone of the city’s transport system. He pointed out that many auto drivers are from economically weaker sections and often lack the time and resources to apply for a driving license.
To address this issue, Dr. Kumar has launched a campaign through the Jan Kalyan Rath, a mobile assistance initiative aimed at helping underprivileged auto drivers complete the application process for obtaining driving licenses.

“This initiative has already begun, and we have successfully submitted online applications for over 50 drivers, whose forms were distributed today. These drivers will soon receive their learner’s licenses,” Dr. Ajoy Kumar stated.
The campaign will extend to various auto stands across the city to ensure that more auto drivers receive assistance in securing their driving licenses. Dr. Kumar underscored the significance of this seemingly small effort, noting that while it may appear minor, for those benefiting from it, it represents a huge relief. “A well-regulated system is key to making Jamshedpur better,” he added.
Apart from driving license assistance, the Jan Kalyan Rath is also helping citizens with online applications for essential documents like ration cards, voter ID cards, and Aadhaar cards, all done conveniently at their doorsteps.
Dr. Kumar proudly shared that around 11,000 people have benefited from this mobile service so far, and he pledged to continue this effort to ensure that the development and well-being of Jamshedpur’s citizens remain a top priority.
