Dhanbad, April 20: Senior Congress leader Anupma Singh has demanded strict action against Rashid Ansari Raja, the executive president of the Dhanbad District Congress Committee, for allegedly assaulting media persons during a party rally on April 16.
Anupma Singh, wife of Bermo MLA Anup Singh and Congress’s Lok Sabha candidate from Dhanbad in the upcoming May 2024 elections, stated that the Congress Party has always deeply respected the media, which is considered the fourth pillar of democracy. “No amount of condemnation is enough for this attack on journalists by the executive president,” she said.
She added that the Congress Party has taken cognisance of the incident and will take disciplinary action. “I urge the party’s Jharkhand in-charge, K. Raju, and state president, Keshav Mahto Kamlesh, to take strict action against those involved,” she said.
