Dhanbad, July 31: A daily wage worker of a private construction company identified as Rohit Bauri (21) was electrocuted during construction work in BIT Sindri.

Rohit Bauri came in contact with live wire during work and succumbed to a power jolt on the spot.  On getting information, Goshala Police Out Post (OP) in-charge Anil Mandal reached the spot and took the body in possession.

Mssr Niranjan Roy Private Limited is engaged in the construction of a classroom block, multi-purpose hall cum examination of BIT on the campus. Rohit Bauri, a resident was working in it on daily wage when the incident happened,

As the incident information spread, family members and residents of Manohar Tand Gherao Goshala police outpost demanded action against the construction company and compensation to the victim’s family.

The construction company’s local manager offered Rs 5 lakh as compensation which agitators refused to accept.

The workers alleged that the construction company operator did not care about safety norms during work which caused the tragedy.
