Jharkhand News: Criminals loot Rs 60,000 at gunpoint near Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 15: A gang of three bike-borne criminals looted Rs 60 thousand from the owner of a consumer service centre (CSC) under Rajnagar thana area in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district, about 30 km away from here, on Wednesday.

The criminals had held gun at the CSC owner Anup Mahakud while committing the loot and had fired several rounds while fleeing the spot.

The broad daylight looting took place at Sijulata, where the Bank of India’s CSC is situated along the Hata-Chaibass road in Rajnagar, a locality which remains bustling with people.

A police party had rushed to the spot getting information about the loot, but by the time it arrived there, the criminals had already fled the area.

The police are trying to collect CCTV footage from the crime scene to identify the looters.

According to sources, after committing the loot, the trio had abruptly fled the scene by riding the bike, leading some people to chase them.

Incidentally, the bike the criminals were riding on skidded off the road. Moreover, those who were chasing them had also come close to the trio.

Sensing they may get caught, one of the criminals started firing at the chasers. As soon as the chasers stopped on being fired upon, the trio rose to their feet and sped away on the bike towards Hata.
