Jamshedpur, June 13: A CRPF jawan was killed on the spot and two others seriously injured as the Scooty they were riding on was hit by a truck on the Kandra-Seraikela road under Seraikela thana area about 28 km away from here late on Wednesday night.
The jawan who was killed was identified as Harendra Kunkal, a resident of Mango.
The mishap took place near Jio petrol station at Dugni at about 11 pm when the victims were negotiating the stretch on the Seraikela-Kandra road from the Seraikela end.
Condition of two injured persons critical
Circle inspector, Seraikela, Santosh Gupta said that the police could know about the fatal mishap early this morning only.

“A patrolling party found three men lying in a pool of blood on the road, one of them trapped under the wheel of a truck. Soon after the police rescued the injured trio and rushed them to Seraikela Sadar Hospital where one of them was declared as brought dead,” said Gupta while talking to The Jharkhand Story.
The police inspector pointed out as the condition of the two others was very serious, they were immediately shifted to MGM Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH). He said preparation is on to shift the duo to Tata Main Hospital for better treatment.
Truck driver on the run
According to the police inspector, the one killed on the spot was later identified as Harendra Kunkal who was posted at the CRPF’s Battalion VI in Sundarnagar.
The inspector said the driver and cleaner of the truck have fled the scene leaving the truth abandoned near the mishap scene, adding that the police have seized the truck.
