Dhanbad, May 4: The Dhanbad Cyber Cell today arrested a cyber fraudster, Abhinandan Kumar, in connection with an online scam involving ₹15 lakh. The arrest was made from the New Colony area under Barbadda police station limits.

Cyber Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sanjeev Kumar informed the media that an FIR had been registered against Kumar under sections 41/24, 318, and 319 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 66(C) and 66(D) of the Information Technology Act.

According to the police, Kumar had opened 14 bank accounts used for fraudulent transactions. A total of 29 complaints linked to these accounts were registered on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP).
At the time of arrest, police recovered a Poco mobile phone and two SIM cards from Kumar. One of the SIM cards had already been linked to a previous cheating case.

The DSP stated that investigations are ongoing, particularly into the details of Kumar’s bank transactions.
