Jamshedpur, May 7: Netaji Subhas University in collaboration with Jamshedpur Police, successfully organized a Cyber Peace Awareness Campaign for IT department students today.

Hosted by the School of IT at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Block Auditorium, the event aimed to sensitize young minds to the growing challenges and safety protocols in the field of cybersecurity.

The campaign was part of a broader outreach initiative under the banner of CyberPeace Corps, dedicated to promoting cyber hygiene and digital safety among youth. The session witnessed participation from both students and faculty members.
The technical session was opened by Tarak Das, State Coordinator of CyberPeace Corps, who highlighted the urgent need for academic institutions to engage students actively in cybersecurity awareness efforts. He emphasized the critical importance of cyber safety in the modern digital era.

Following him, Shrinivas Kumar, Officer-in-Charge of Jamshedpur Cyber Police Station, addressed the audience, sharing real-life case studies from his extensive experience in cybercrime investigations. His insights underscored the serious consequences of ignorance in online behaviour and encouraged students to report cyber incidents promptly.

Adding further depth to the seminar, Inspector Amit Kumar elaborated on the operational procedures of the Cyber Crime Cell and explained the role of technology in both perpetrating and combating digital crimes. His compelling talk inspired many students to consider cybersecurity as a potential career path.
The session concluded with an interactive workshop led by certified trainer Kriti Srivastava from the CyberPeace Corps. Through engaging examples and live demonstrations, she educated students on secure internet practices, phishing traps, password protection, and social media privacy settings.

A major highlight of the event was the announcement of a free 10-hour Google-certified Master Trainer Program for students.
This certification aims to equip participants with essential skills in cybersecurity and digital literacy, enhancing both awareness and employability.
The Cyber Peace Awareness Campaign proved to be a resounding success, fostering a deeper understanding of digital threats and safe practices.

Netaji Subhas University today celebrated Rabindranath Tagore’s 164th birth anniversary.
The Department of English, under the School of Arts and Humanities organized a vibrant cultural program to commemorate the 164th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore.
The event celebrated the life and legacy of the Nobel Laureate through poetry recitations, musical performances, and dance, capturing the spirit of Tagore’s artistic brilliance.
Highlights included renditions of Rabindra Sangeet in Bengali and English, along with character portrayals from his renowned plays.
