Dhanbad, March 5: Devotees visiting Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar will soon have access to affordable hotel accommodations. The Deoghar administration has identified a one-acre land in Mohanpur Circle, approximately 6 to 7 km from the temple, for the construction of a low-budget hotel. Given the dense population of the main township, this location will provide a peaceful and less crowded environment for visitors.

Deputy Commissioner Vishal Sagar has directed officials to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) to expedite the construction process. The initiative aims to offer affordable lodging options to the thousands of devotees who visit the temple daily.

High Demand for Affordable Accommodation

Official records indicate that 40,000 to 50,000 devotees from Jharkhand and across India visit Baba Baidyanath Dham daily. During the month-long Shrawani Mela, the number exceeds 1.5 lakh devotees per day, including international visitors who come to offer Gangajal at the revered shrine.

Due to the high cost of private hotels, many pilgrims rely on Dharamshalas run by the Panda community for accommodation. To address this issue, the low-budget hotel will offer affordable yet high-standard lodging facilities, ensuring a comfortable stay for devotees.

“The primary objective is to provide devotees and tourists with economical yet quality lodging, superior to commercial hostels,” stated Deputy Commissioner Vishal Sagar.

Final Preparations for Baba Baidyanath Dham Mahotsav

The district administration has finalized preparations for the three-day Baba Baidyanath Dham Mahotsav, scheduled to take place from March 6 to March 8 at KKN Stadium, Deoghar.

DC Vishal Sagar has instructed officials to organize the event in a way that leaves a lasting impression on devotees and visitors.
