Jharkhand News: Dhanbad Bar Association honours 34 lawyers for 50 yrs of legal excellence

Dhanbad, Feb 22: The Dhanbad Bar Association today felicitated 34 senior lawyers and six clerks who have completed 50 years in legal practice. The event was held on the district court premises.

Jharkhand High Court Judge Justice Rogan Mukhopadhyay was the chief guest at the ceremony. He honoured all 34 senior advocates of the Dhanbad Bar Association by presenting them with a shawl and a memento. On this occasion, Justice Mukhopadhyay also inaugurated the Late Justice S.B. Sinha Dwar (Gate) at the Dhanbad Bar Association on the court premises.

The following senior advocates were felicitated for completing over 50 years in legal practice:
Brajendra Prasad Singh, S.N. Mukherjee, Sumiran Pal, Sita Ram Khetan, Matadin Agrawal, Hari Prasad, Nakul Singh, Abdul Hai Khan, A.B. Singh, Anisur Rehman, Arun Kumar Singh, Vinay Kumar Mukherjee, D.G. Banerjee, J.C. Mahto, Iswar Narayan Mandal, Janki Prasad, Kansari Mandal, Maheshwar Prasad Sah, Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari, Ram Naresh Singh, Ram Prasad Mahto, Sadhan Kumar Mahata, Samiran Pal, Satyawan Singh, and Shiv Das Tiwari.

In addition to the 20 lawyers present at the event, Justice Mukhopadhyay also felicitated six lawyer clerks: Saryu Prasad Yadav, Sahdeo Paswan, Gangeswar Mahto, Kartik Kumar, and Ramnath Prasad.

Justice Mukhopadhyay’s Address

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Mukhopadhyay emphasized the moral responsibility of senior lawyers to guide junior practitioners on the values of ethics and discipline in the legal profession.

“In the legal profession, ethics and discipline hold special significance. Often, it is assumed that only junior lawyers must follow these principles, but in reality, senior lawyers have an equal responsibility to uphold them and guide their juniors,” said Justice Mukhopadhyay.

Bar Association’s Pride

Bar Association President Amrendra Kumar Sahay expressed pride in the fact that many of its lawyers have gone on to practice at the High Court and Supreme Court.

General Secretary Jitendra Kumar stated that the Bar Association feels honoured to felicitate its senior advocates. Senior advocate Jaya Kumar conducted the function.
