Investigation into human trafficking allegations
CWC Chairman Uttam Mukherjee highlighted that Sub Judge-cum-DLSA Secretary Rakesh Roshan played a crucial role in the rescue and rehabilitation of both girls. One of the rescued girls disclosed the name of a woman police inspector allegedly involved in her trafficking.

Following this revelation, CWC directed the police to launch an investigation and take necessary action against the accused officer. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) H.P. Janardhan took cognizance of the allegation and discussed the matter with CWC officials.
Gumla CWC conducted an independent probe and confirmed the involvement of a police officer in the trafficking case.
Meanwhile, the second rescued girl, who belonged to Lohardagga, was taken back to her home district by CWC Lohardagga member Manorma Minj after consulting Dhanbad CWC Chairman Uttam Mukherjee.
