Dhanbad, July 17: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Dhanbad, organized a special disability assessment camp on Thursday at Sadar Hospital for differently-abled children. The camp aimed to facilitate access to government welfare schemes by identifying and certifying eligible children.

On the occasion, Principal District and Sessions Judge-cum-DLSA Chairman, Virendra Kumar Tiwari, emphasized that no differently-abled child in the district should be left out of the benefits provided by the government.

“Every child in the district is special and deserves their rightful entitlements,” he said. The initiative was held under the direction of the Jharkhand Legal Services Authority (JHALSA).

Empowering Through Legal Awareness and Support

Assistant Judge and DLSA Secretary, Mayank Tushar Topno, said the camp was part of a special awareness campaign conducted under the supervision of the Principal District and Sessions Judge.
“The objective of this camp was to provide access to government schemes for differently-abled children and to empower them legally after medical evaluation,” he added.

During the camp, dozens of children underwent health assessments and received disability certificates, which will enable them to avail benefits under various schemes.

Medical Team and Support Staff

A team of specialist doctors, mainly from Shaheed Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH), was formed to conduct medical evaluations.
