Dhanbad, June 11: The Dhanbad–Howrah Coalfield Express (12339/12340) and the Black Diamond Express (22387/22388), both considered lifeline trains between Dhanbad and Kolkata, will remain cancelled on June 21 and 22 due to non-interlocking work in the Asansol Rail Division under the Eastern Railway zone.

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr. DCM) of Dhanbad Rail Division, Md. Iqbal, confirmed the cancellations.

He said that the up Black Diamond Express (22387) from Howrah to Dhanbad and the down train (22388) from Dhanbad to Howrah will not operate on both days.
Similarly, the up Coalfield Express (12339) from Howrah to Dhanbad and the down train (12340) from Dhanbad to Howrah will also remain suspended on June 21 and 22.
These four trains serve thousands of daily passengers and are crucial for the trading community, as Dhanbad’s markets heavily depend on supplies from Kolkata. The trains offer key morning and evening connectivity between the two cities:

- Coalfield Express (12339) departs Howrah at 17:20 and (12340) departs Dhanbad at 05:50.
- Black Diamond Express (22387) leaves Howrah at 06:15 and (22388) departs Dhanbad at 16:20.

Jhargram–Dhanbad MEMU Also Cancelled
In addition, the Jhargram–Dhanbad MEMU Express (18019/18020) will remain cancelled on June 22 and 24 due to non-interlocking work in the Chakradharpur Rail Division.
