Dhanbad, Aug 27: Dhanbad photographer Chandan Paul clinched the first prize in a state-level photography competition and exhibition organized by the Dumka Photography Club. The event, themed around ‘Jharkhand Tourism and Climate Change,’ was held to celebrate World Photography Day.

District Nodal Officer of Tourism Tufan Poddar was the chief guest, with Sanjeev Hansda serving as the special guest. Together, they inaugurated the photo gallery and exhibition and presented awards to the winners.
The competition attracted over 200 entries from across Jharkhand, showcasing creative photography on the state’s tourist spots and climate change issues. Chandan Paul distinguished himself by winning first prize in both categories.

Category wise winners
In the DSLR photography category for climate change, Chandan Paul, Sampanna Soren, and Sameer Ranjan Murmu were awarded first, second, and third prizes, respectively. In the mobile photography category for climate change, Prerna Hansda, Amy Emmanuel Marandi, and Daniel Hembram secured the top three positions.
For the tourism DSLR photography category, Chandan Paul, Anil Kumar Pandit, and Sukhdev Hembram won first, second, and third prizes, respectively. In the tourism mobile photography category, Raj Kumar Murmu, Kundan Kumar Pal, and Abhishek Kumar received the awards.
Aditya Raj and Kundan Kumar Pal also received awards for their reels in the tourism and climate change categories, respectively.
The successful event was organized by Dumka Photography Club members Balkishore Tudu, Sanjeev Hansda, Susanna Marandi, Balwant Singh, Kamlesh Marandi, Kedarnath Pal, Anuj Besra, Benison Hansda, Barun Murmu, Francis Murmu, Sam Samuel, Lucas Soren, Sukomal Hembram, Mustafa Alam, and Munna Murmu.
