Jharkhand News: DLSA chairman asks to ensure govt benefits reach all disabled children

Dhanbad, August 22: Ram Sharma, Principal District and Sessions Judge and Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), directed today that no disabled child should be deprived of government benefits.

Speaking at a mega camp for disabled children held at the civil court premises, Sharma emphasized the government’s commitment to numerous development schemes for these children and the responsibility to ensure that all benefits reach them.

He highlighted the introduction of the Application Jyoti for blind children, which is expected to greatly assist them. “DLSA is working hard to ensure government benefit reaches all handicapped children and no one deprived of it,” said Ram Sharma.

45-day special campaign in Dhanbad

Following directives from the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA), a 45-day special campaign is underway in the district. The camp, organized in collaboration with the Jharkhand Education Project, was inaugurated by Principal District and Sessions Judge Ram Sharma and Dhanbad Bar Association President Amarendra Kumar Sahay.

Handicapped children with tri-cycles

Disability certificates prepared for 3,517 children

The camp distributed hearing machines, tricycles, walkers, disability certificates, and insurance policies to beneficiaries. Senior Division Judge and DLSA Secretary Rakesh Roshan reported that a special search campaign, which began on July 5, has identified 3,517 children, with disability certificates prepared at Sadar Hospital.

“So far 1003 handicapped children have been covered under government projects and more would be attached today,” he said.

Bar Association President Amarendra Sahay expressed the Bar’s ongoing commitment to supporting these children. The camp also featured cultural performances by the disabled children, which received widespread applause from guests and attendees.

District and Sessions Judge Sujit Kumar Singh, Durgesh Chandra Awasthi, Prabhakar Singh, Kuldeep Mann, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate Arti Mala, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Raji Tripathi, Legal Aid Defense Council System Chief Kumar Bimelendu, Deputy Chief Ajay Kumar Bhatt, Assistant Counsel Kanhaiyalal Thakur, Shailendra Jha, Neeraj Goel, Swati Muskan, and Jharkhand Education Project APO Nitu Singh were also present at the event.
