Jharkhand News: DPS Bokaro holds Yoga training course for school students

Dhanbad, July 15: Delhi Public School (DPS Bokaro)  in association with the Bokaro District Yogasana Sports Association (BDYSA) organised a two-day technical training programme on Yogasana for the students of different schools across the steel city,

A DPS official said the two yoga coaches, Vikash Gope (Jharkhand Yoga Ratna awardee) and national swimmer cum gymnast Shankar Rana imparted training to participants from different schools’ students.

On the occasion, BDYSA president Dr AS Gangwar (principal DPS Bokaro) while addressing said that two-day sessions were organized with a commitment to encourage and maintain the physical health of young students.

On the occasion, an ambitious campaign ‘Go Green’ was also launched on the campus of the school.

The sessions observed the participation of over 155 students from different schools across the city. Students actively participated in the training programme. Ranging from various yogasanas targeting full-body yogic exercises to Pranayama were taught to the students.

Healthy lifestyle

The coaches made students aware of the importance of diet to maintain a healthy lifestyle. They stressed bringing discipline in regularity through the religious practice of Yoga to live a healthy, stress-free and fulfilling life.

The DPS official said on the second day of the Yoga session the students were highly motivated to develop a positive attitude towards fitness, to take care of their mental and physical health seriously and to include ‘yogic kriyas’ in their daily fitness regimes.

“This training session will also help them to win various Yoga competitions organised at different levels. All the participants were given certificates for their active participation in the Yoga training session,” the official said.

Dr A.S. Gangwar, Principal DPS, Bokaro- cum -President BDYSA stated that the daily practice of Yoga nurtures our body, mind and soul. He added that it strengthens our memory, and reduces anxiety and depression which helps in leading a positive and healthy life.
