Ranchi, Dec 11: DPS Ranchi (Classes III-V) celebrated its Annual Function ‘Sanskriti- The Essence of Bharat’ at Vivekananda Auditorium today.

Principal Dr. R. K. Jha welcomed the guests and addressed the symposium, appreciating the flamboyance of the students and congratulated them for showcasing a quintessential performance. He emphasized that the junior wing is the foundation of any school and needs to be well prepared for the secondary level of education. He said that parents’ role in a student’s personality, career guidance and overall development cannot be ignored.

He also highlighted the achievements of DPSITES in the various examinations and in the different spheres of higher education and career choices. Lastly, the Principal thanked the organisers for their diligent efforts and the revered guests and parents for having spared their time to attend the function.

The Principal’s speech was followed by a performance titled: ‘Aparajita: Celebrating Heritage, Empowering Future’ a presentation by the students of Std.- V. This programme showcased the achievements of many such women across generations, cultures and backgrounds. From breaking stereotypes to making history, Indian women have shown time and again that they are unstoppable. Women empowerment is not just a movement; it is a vision of equality. It is about creating a world where every woman is given the chance to rise, break and shine brightly in every field.

The Chief Guest Sandip Kumar Kar was spellbound to see the presentation of the students. He complimented the students for their praiseworthy presentation. He addressed the assemblage by asserting that the role of educational institutions has become increasingly challenging in providing holistic development to students and moulding them with indomitable spirit and strength to face the world. He further mentioned about the school’s achievements and praised the efforts of the Principal Dr. R. K. Jha in keeping up the legacy of DPS Ranchi.

The address by the Chief Guest was followed by a performance by the students of Std.- III titled – ‘Sangam: A Riverine Rhapsody’. The students portrayed the importance of mighty rivers like the Ganges and Brahmaputra, not just as water bodies but as sacred entities that nourish our land and sustain our lives. Rivers are crucial to our survival since time immemorial. Many of the earlier civilizations thrived due to the availability of rivers. In a country like ours, a river is a mini cosmos in itself which inspires mythology, art and civilization. The beauty of these rivers challenges and reminds us of the need to protect and preserve them for future generations.

The last event of the evening was a presentation by the students of Std.- IV titled: ‘Rishtey: The Eternal Bond’. In our glorious country, everything is driven by pure bonds. Relationships are the very essence of life. They teach us compassion and understanding. They give us love, support, joy and sense of belonging and help us face life’s challenges and celebrate its victories. They are our support system and our greatest treasure. The students beautifully displayed their performance by capturing the essence of these priceless bonds that give shape and add colour to our lives in the most beautiful ways.

The grandiose evening culminated with the participants coming together for the grand finale and the vote of thanks.
