Jamshedpur, Dec 21: Following instructions of district magistrate cum deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Ananya Mittal, the nodal officer nominated for all the 11 blocks inspected one panchayat of a block on Saturday.
The deputy commissioner also reached the Lailam panchayat of Bodam block to get information about the status of development schemes implemented in the panchayats.
Dhalbhum SDO Shatabdi Majumdar, BDO Bodam Kiku Mahato were present on the occasion.
During this, he inspected the health centre, MNREGA scheme, panchayat building, public distribution system, shop, school etc. and took information about the services provided to the people, basic facilities available in the panchayat and gave necessary directions to the officials of the block.
Show cause notice for health sub-centre closure
During the inspection, MOIC Bodam was given a show cause notice by the deputy commissioner when the health sub-centre at Lailam in Bodam was found closed and no paramedical staff were found present.

The deputy commissioner said the MNREGA schemes which strengthen the rural economy, are the objective of this panchayat-level inspection program so that the development work plans go uninterrupted.
“It should continue to operate smoothly and if any problem arises, the block officials can immediately coordinate with the district officials and find a solution,” he said.
Comprehensive inspection across blocks
Similarly, Dhalbhum SDO took charge of Lailam in Bodam, Deputy Nirwan officer took charge of Belajudi panchayat of Golmuri cum Jugsalai block, executive magistrate Ghatsila took charge of Gohla panchayat of Musabani, district agriculture officer took charge of Jorsya panchayat of Patamda, the district planning officer took charge of Kalapathar of Chakulia.
Focus on public welfare and accountability
The deputy commissioner said that this exercise is an attempt to know how the common people are benefiting from the services and facilities of the government and to remove the errors and shortcomings.
An effort is made to ensure that the eligible people get the benefits of the government’s public welfare schemes easily and to connect the deprived people with the schemes and make them aware.
Be it Anganwadi Centre, school check-up or PDS shop, monitoring of health centres, common people are directly connected to all these institutions and they get benefits.
