The divisional forest office, Jamshedpur in its advisory warned the parents not to allow their children to step out of their homes located near the Biodiversity Park alone, not to venture into the park and even on the road surrounding it alone, especially after the dusk and to keep the residential premises well-lit.

In the advisory, the forest department has stretched to keep track of the drunkards who tend to pass time alone under the influence of liquor in parks and open fields.

The advisory has a word of caution for those who rear bovines and asked them to get the cattle fitted with bells which may trigger clues to the imminent presence of the roaming leopard.

Leopard remains uncaught despite week-long efforts in Adityapur and Gamharia

Despite over a week-long concerted effort by the forest department in the densely-populated Adityapur and Gamharia, the leopard could not be trapped.

During its ‘sojourn’ in  Adityapur and Gamharia, the elusive animal appeared on the rooftops, industrial units’ premises and was sighted moving in the lanes.

Equipped with the CCTV footage of the ferrous animal, the forest department officials arranged cage and nets for nabbing it, but each time the leopard succeeded in giving the officials a slip.

This is the reason that the forest department officials have focused more on the safety aspects of the residents after the leopard was sighted in the Kadma locality after its conspicuous silence from the scene for the past couple of days.

The Biodiversity Park in Kadma is located close to Green Enclave which is a sprawling residential colony.
