Jamshedpur, Dec 23: Former advisor to the Sakchi Gurudwara Management Committee and a devoted follower of Guru Ghar, Sardar Balbir Singh Bhatia, was cremated on Monday. Approximately 84 years old, Balbir Singh Bhatia passed away during treatment at Tata Main Hospital.

According to Gurvinder Singh Bhatia (Bunty), his eldest son and member of the Sitaramdera Gurudwara Management Committee and Veer Khalsa Dal, the final Ardas and Shabad Kirtan will be held on Friday, December 27, from 12 noon to 1 PM at Sakchi Gurudwara. An Akhand Path has been scheduled on December 25 at their residence in Madho Bagh Colony.

Balbir Singh Bhatia is survived by his four daughters, two sons, and a large extended family.

The final rites were led by Jathedar General Singh. Prominent attendees included his son Manish Singh Bhatia, Gurudwara President Nishan Singh, BJP leader Amarpreet Singh Kale, former president Gurmukh Singh Mukhe, Sikh BJP leader Satbir Singh Somu, Chanchal Bhatia, Ravindra Singh Rinku, Baba Vadbhag Singh Gurudwara Mukhi Sardar Pintu Singh, Puran Singh, Surendra Pal (Titu), former presidents Harminder Singh Mindi and Harvinder Singh Mantu, Sitaramdera Secretary Avinash Singh, Avtar Bhatia, Inder Sandhu, Sant Kutia President Jasveer Singh, Ajit Singh Gambhir, Raja Bhai, Harjeet Singh Monu, journalist Parvinder Singh, Nanak Singh, Kulvinder Singh, Pappu Bhatia, Ajay Singh, Raju Marwah, Sunny Singh Bariyar, and many others.

The community mourns the loss of a devoted Sikh and a dedicated member of society.
