Jharkhand News: Experts discuss unmanned aerial systems at BIT Sindri bootcamp

Dhanbad, Dec 4: Leading experts from academia and industry gathered at BIT Sindri’s Bootcamp to discuss the latest unmanned aerial systems (UAS), sensors, and communication technologies.

Prof. Ravi Kumar Gangwar and Prof. Jaisingh T of IIT Indian School of Mines (ISM), Dhanbad, were the main speakers at the event. They delivered insightful lectures on the evolving fields of UAS, sensors, and communication technologies while providing an overview of the five-day program.

The Bootcamp, organised by the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of BIT Sindri, saw active participation from experts, professionals, and students in expert talks, interactive sessions, and hands-on classes.

In his inaugural address, Dr Pankaj Rai, Director of BIT Sindri, emphasised the growing significance of aerial technologies in modern applications. His address set the tone for the discussions, highlighting the importance of UAS in transforming various sectors, from defence to civilian industries.

Experts and faculty members in Bootcamp program

Prof. M.G. Tiwary, Head of the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department, noted that the Bootcamp had been an inspiring platform for discussing the future of unmanned aerial systems, sensors, and communication technologies.

He encouraged attendees to explore these transformative fields, emphasising the importance of innovation and application in shaping the future of technology.

Organising team and successful execution

The program was coordinated by faculty members Prof. Gunjan Gandhi, and Prof. Prashant Kumar Singh, and student coordinators Rohit Kumar, Akash Kumar, Shreya Paul, Ashish Kumar, and Amisha Kumari Soren.

Shreya Paul anchored the inauguration session. Dr Varun Chaudhary, Kundan Kumar Suman, and Aks Raj distributed kits to the participants and motivated them to engage in the sessions.

The Bootcamp concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Pankaj Rai and Prof. M.G. Tiwary. They expressed their gratitude to the guest professors, students, and faculty coordinators for their valuable contributions to the event’s success.

All senior professors of the ECE department, including Dr Arvind Kumar, Dr Imteyaz Ahmad, and Dr A.P. Sinha, were present at the event, contributing to the overall success of the Bootcamp.
