Jamshedpur, Sept 10: Police in Parsudih, on the outskirts of Jamshedpur, arrested five persons with a large consignment of brown sugar during a raid near St. Robert’s School ground.

Acting on a tip-off, a special team led by officer-in-charge Avinash Kumar, under the direction of senior officials, conducted the operation.

During the raid, police seized 119 packets of brown sugar, a white Hyundai car, 12 cheque books, three passbooks, one credit card, nine QR codes, and four mobile phones.

Those arrested have been identified as Arvind Kumar Sharma alias Caddy, Honey Syansi, Mohammad Sameer, Mohammad Sabbir Hussain, and Mohammad Toufiq Alam.
Investigations revealed that the accused were involved in significant financial transactions worth lakhs through their bank accounts.

A case has been registered under the NDPS Act at Parsudih police station. Police are also tracking other members of the network, and large-scale raids are underway.
According to police, the gang operates in a highly organized manner, and strict action is being taken to curb drug trafficking in the city.
