Five bike lifters arrested in Dhanbad, 12 stolen vehicles recovered

Dhanbad, June 21: Dhanbad police have arrested five members of bike bike-lifting gang and recovered 12 stolen vehicles from their different hideouts in the Tisra police station area in special raids conducted on Thursday night.

Giving this information Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) HP Janardhan told media persons at Tisra police station that on getting a tip off, a team under the Tisra police station officer-in-charge and Ghanuwadih OP in-charge was formed and sent on raids.

The police team nabbed Sonu Sinha and Bholu Mahto from the dilapidated quarters of  Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) Khas Kuia area while plotting the crime of bike lifting. On their revelation, police recovered four stolen vehicles.

The arrested criminals also informed the names of their three syndicate members and recovered the other eight stolen bike from their hide out.  The arrested criminals admitted their involvement in bike-lifting incidents and informed the names of whom they sold in the past.

SSP Janardhan said that Sonu Sinha and Bholu Mahto are history sheeters against whom, theft, Arms Act, liquor smuggling and other crime cases are lodged in different police stations of the district and in other states.
