Jamshedpur, Oct 31: The city’s most cherished literary celebration — the 39th Jamshedpur Book Fair — is set to open on November 14, bringing together readers, writers, and publishers from across India.

The 10-day fair will continue till November 23 at the Rabindra Bhavan premises in Sakchi, promising an enriching cultural and intellectual experience for book enthusiasts.

Announcing the event, The Tagore Society general secretary Ashish Choudhary said the fair will feature leading publishers and distributors from Delhi, Kolkata, Patna, Giridih, Gorakhpur, Ranchi, and Jhargram, along with representatives of several internationally acclaimed publishing houses.

Visitors can expect a diverse collection of books ranging from literature, fiction, and children’s titles to academic, spiritual, and contemporary works.

This year’s edition will also include interactive sessions, book launches, and literary discussions, providing a platform for readers to engage with authors and scholars.

Several cultural programmes, including poetry readings and performances celebrating Rabindranath Tagore’s literary legacy, are also planned alongside the fair.

Choudhary urged all book lovers to mark their calendars and dedicate time to explore the fair. “The Jamshedpur Book Fair is not just a marketplace for books; it’s a celebration of ideas, creativity, and lifelong learning,” he said.
