Jamshedpur, Feb 27: Police have unravelled an interstate gang of scammers which used to dupe unemployed youths of crores of rupees in the name of providing them government jobs.
Two of the arrested persons are from Bokaro, and one each from Ranchi and Calcutta.
Those arrested were identified as Manish Kumar alias Abhay Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Deepraj Kumar Bhattacharya alias Sonu and Santosh Kumar Mahali.
Scammers Targeted Unemployed Youths with False Job Promises
While arresting the four, the police have seized fake ID cards of the Indian Army, Aadhaar cards, mobile phones and a car without a number plate with a sticker of Indian Army from them.

Revealing about the breakthrough, senior SP Kishore Kaushal said those arrested would lure gullible unemployed youths into paying lakhs of rupees in the name of getting jobs in the Railway, Indian Army and central as well as state government.
Investigation Leads to Arrests After Victim Files FIR
“Recently, an FIR was lodged with the Bistupur thana by one of the victims, leading us to set a special team to investigate the matter. The special team ultimately succeeded in unraveling the case by arresting four of the scammers,” said Kaushal while briefing the newsmen at the police office on Thursday.
The senior SP pointed out that there were several others also involved in the racket whom the special team is trying to arrest.
The senior police officer had brought all four scammers to the police office during the press briefing and later forwarded them all to jail, having produced them before a judicial magistrate.
