Jamshedpur, Aug 28: Even before the former chief minister Champai Soren’s formal switch over from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) to the BJP, the landscape in the Kolhan region has begun to change from green to saffron.
Though the emerging change from greenery symbolising the JMM into saffron is perceptible on a small level now one can see the writing on the wall very soon given the popularity of Champai Soren across Kolhan.
Several party offices of the JMM, including the one at Mahuldih in Rajnagar are getting a fresh coat colour but in saffron, instead of green.

Important roads and strategic intersections at places like Seraikela, Rajnagar, Chowka and Chandil in Seraikela-Kharsawan and several other places in West Singhbhum as well as East Singhbhum are also being saffronised with posters and banners as well flags.
“I used to paint the JMM party office every alternate year and, of course, would paint the office in green. But now I have been asked to turn the party office colour into saffron from green. So I am doing that, ” said the painter who has been assigned to the JMM’s Mahuldih office in Rajnagar while talking to The Jharkhand Story.
Moreover, the youth brigade in Mahuldih came out spontaneously and asserted “Dada is leaving the JMM to join the BJP. Therefore, the colour of the party office as well as the flag-posters etc have to be changed accordingly, ” said a youth claiming himself to be an avid supporter of Champai Soren while talking to this correspondent.
Identified as Subham Murmu, the youth later declared that thousands of supporters of Champai Soren will travel to Ranchi on August 30, when their beloved leader will formally join the BJP.
