Jamshedpur, June 13: In a significant step towards securing justice for the victims of the 1984 Sikh riots, Harjeet Singh Dhami, a representative from the victim families of Ramgarh and Hazaribag, has handed over a list of 12 victims to Satnam Singh Gambhir, the East India President of the All India Sikh Students Federation. The handover took place today in Jamshedpur, following directives from the Jharkhand High Court.
The court had earlier instructed petitioner Satnam Singh Gambhir to provide a district-wise breakdown of victims who are yet to receive compensation. In compliance with this directive, the list of 12 victims from Hazaribagh and Ramgarh was compiled and delivered.
Satnam Singh Gambhir, who has been a relentless advocate for the riot victims, assured that efforts will be intensified to ensure that no victim family remains uncompensated. He expressed his commitment to continuing the struggle until justice is fully served, noting the prolonged 40-year wait for many affected families.

“This handover is a crucial step in our ongoing fight for justice. It is deeply distressing that these families have not received their rightful compensation even after four decades. Our resolve is stronger than ever to ensure that every single victim receives what they deserve,” stated Gambhir.
Inderjit Singh Panesar, another key figure in the advocacy for Sikh riot victims, was also present during the event, underscoring the united front presented by the Sikh community in their quest for justice.
The All India Sikh Students Federation, under the leadership of Gambhir, continues to advocate for the rights and compensation for the victims of the 1984 riots. This latest development highlights the ongoing efforts and the persistent demand for timely and fair compensation to all affected families.
