Jharkhand News: Locking of Tatanagar station’s VIP parking area irks citizens

Jamshedpur, Oct 31: The Central Gurdwara Management Committee (CGPC) and the Jamshedpur Nagrik Sangharsh Samiti have raised strong objections to the recent decision of the railway authorities to lock the entry and exit gates of the VIP parking area at Tatanagar Railway Station.

Both organizations submitted separate memorandums to Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and Station Director Sunil Kumar on Thursday, demanding the immediate removal of these locks.

The committees alleged that the move to restrict the entry of common citizens’ vehicles under the guise of “VIP parking” is arbitrary and undemocratic. CGPC President Bhagwan Singh described the action as “dictatorial and high-handed,” asserting that it discriminates against ordinary passengers.

Echoing similar sentiments, Sardar Shailendra Singh, President of the Nagrik Samiti, said the decision was taken solely to inconvenience the public and would not be tolerated. “If the locks are not removed at the earliest, we will be compelled to launch a protest and demonstration at the railway station. The railway administration will be held responsible for any untoward incident,” he warned.
