Patna, Oct 31: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday unveiled its election manifesto, ‘Sankalp Patra’, in Patna, pledging massive employment generation, women’s empowerment, and large-scale infrastructure development across Bihar.

The alliance, led by the BJP, announced an ambitious plan to create over one crore government jobs and other employment opportunities while conducting a comprehensive skills census to connect youth with skills-based professions. It also proposed establishing mega skill centers in every district, aiming to position Bihar as a “Global Skill Training Hub.”

Emphasizing women’s economic empowerment, the manifesto includes the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana’, which promises financial aid of up to ₹2 lakh to women to promote self-reliance and prosperity. The NDA has also set a target to make one crore women ‘Lakhpati Didis’ through various livelihood programs.

For farmers, the alliance has announced the ‘Kapurgari Thakur Kisan Samman Nidhi’ scheme, under which cultivators will receive an annual assistance of ₹3,000, amounting to ₹9,000 over three years. Additionally, occupational groups among the extremely backward classes will be provided ₹10 lakh each to promote socio-economic upliftment.

The manifesto outlines major development goals, including the introduction of metro rail services in four additional cities beyond Patna, the establishment of ten new industrial parks, and an investment target of ₹50 lakh crore over the next five years to spur industrial growth.

The ‘Sankalp Patra’ was jointly released by Union Minister and BJP national president JP Nadda, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Union Ministers Jitan Ram Manjhi and Chirag Paswan, Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha, and other senior leaders.

Elections for Bihar’s 243 Assembly seats will take place in two phases on November 6 and 11, while bye-elections for eight constituencies across seven states and Union Territories are also scheduled for November 11.
