Daltonganj, April 16: A Muslim arranges water and ground for the Ram Bhakts at the Jhal Khandi Devi Mandir, which is within the Tarhassi police station limits in Palamu.

Nearly one lakh Ram Bhakts converge here during Ramnavmi, where the number of women Ram Bhakts is astounding.

10 water tankers

This Muslim Mumtaz Ahmad Khan presses in his 10 water tankers day and night to meet the requirements for drinking water.

No Ram Bhakt ever asks whose water tanker it is. They know the drinking water is from a Muslim.

Khan told this correspondent, “I deployed a JCB machine. It cleared a sugarcane field of the roots. Now, no Ram Bhakt will feel any piercing feel in his or her sole.”

Jhal Khandi Devi Mandir

The Chief Pujari of the Jhal Khandi Devi Mandir Krishna Nand Mishra and his team hail Khan’s work. Khan is a noted contractor and a well-known civil society activist who fought the Panki Vidhan Sabha election in 2019 but in vain.

Khan said he has been doing this Kar Sewa for over a decade. He said his community gives him support as no Muslim has ever told him not to do this. Rather, he said his Muslim friends encourage him to do it more zealously.
