Dhanbad, Oct 6: Sapna Kumari (22), the lady Mukhiya of Palihari Gurudih Panchayat in Bokaro district’s Gomia block, returned home on Sunday after going missing earlier this week. She is considered the youngest Mukhiya in Jharkhand.

Gomia police, with assistance from Ranchi police, raided a relative’s house in the Ratu Road area of Ranchi and safely brought her back to her residence in Palihari Gurudih Panchayat.

Gomia police station in-charge Ravi Kumar confirmed her recovery but did not provide details on her whereabouts in Ranchi or how she reached there on October 2.

Sapna’s husband, Ashish Kumar, had filed a missing complaint on the evening of October 2. She had returned home after attending the Gandhi Jayanti function at the Panchayat Bhawan but went out in the afternoon for some work and did not return.

At the time, she had left behind her one-and-a-half-year-old child and her official mobile phone.

Both the Gomia police and Sapna’s family have remained tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and recovery.

Her parents accompanied her when the police brought her back to Palihari village.
