Jamshedpur, July 15: Narbheram Hansraj English School hosted the Frank Anthony Memorial Inter School Debate Competition 2024 (Category I, Stage I) in its school auditorium.
Participation from numerous schools from Jharkhand
The event saw the participation of several prestigious schools, including ADLS Sunshine School, Carmel Junior College, Dayanand Public School, DBMS English School, De Nobili School (CMRI), Hill Top School, Kerala Public School (Kadma), Kerala Public School (Mango), Loyola School, Motilal Nehru Public School, Rajendra Vidyalaya, Sacred Heart Convent School, and St. Xavier’s School.
The debate was inaugurated by the Principal of Narbheram Hansraj English School, Paramita Roy Chaudhury, who announced the topic for the competition.

The event featured a distinguished panel of judges: Jayanti Banerjee Das, with 38 years of teaching experience; Mitali Roy Choudhury, an esteemed educationist, academician, counselor, and retired principal; and Dr Monika Uppal, Vice Principal of DBMS College of Education.
Nalin Goel, an architect with a notable background in elocution and debate, including the Frank Anthony Debate for ICSE schools, served as the Moderator.
4 minutes to present, 2 minutes for rebuttal round
Participants were given an hour to prepare their speeches, with each speaker allotted 4 minutes to present and 2 minutes for the rebuttal round. The competition gained momentum during the rebuttal session, showcasing the impressive argumentative skills of the young debaters.
The judges expressed their admiration for the participants’ eloquence and critical thinking.
Results
The results were as follows: Best Speaker: Rachit Sharma (De Nobili School, CMRI), First Runner-Up Speaker: Richa Ragini (De Nobili School, CMRI) Winning Team: Rachit Sharma and Richa Ragini (De Nobili School, CMRI) First Runner Up Team: Ankita Dey Laik and Lakshita Choudhury (Loyola School, Jamshedpur).
