Jamshedpur, Dec 18: Class XI students of Narbheram Hansraj English School visited Tata Main Hospital (TMH) on Thursday, as part of an educational initiative to study the handling and management of biomedical waste.

During the visit, students were briefed on the different types of biomedical waste generated in hospitals and the systematic methods adopted for its segregation, treatment and safe disposal.

Hospital officials also explained the strict safety measures followed to prevent infection, contamination and environmental hazards.

The interaction helped students gain a clear understanding of how large healthcare institutions manage hazardous waste in a structured and regulated manner.

The exposure is expected to raise awareness among students about the risks associated with improper disposal of biomedical waste and encourage them to spread awareness in society.
