Dhanbad, July 31: Tata Steel`s Jharia Division bagged the second prize in the ‘Coal Belowground Small Category’ at the 1st all-India level Mine Safety Award (MSA) 2024.
The event was organised by the All-India Mines Safety Association (AIMSA) under the aegis of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre in Kolkata.
An official said the purpose of organising the event is to promote best practices and enhance safety in mining operations across the country.

The Director General of Mines (DGMS) Prabhat Kumar presented the Safety Award at the function.
Sanjay Rajoria, general manager (GM), of Tata Steel Jharia Division, along with Vikash Kumar, chief of Sijua group, and Sanjeev Kumar Thakur, head of Sijua Colliery, Jharia Division, Tata Steel, received the prestigious award during the ceremony.
