Jamshedpur, May 1: Netaji Subhash University, located in Pokhari, Jamshedpur, marked International Labour Day with tribute to its workforce today.

The celebration aimed to highlight the significance of laborers in our daily lives and to honor their invaluable contribution to society.
The event commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony by guests. This was followed by a dance performance by university students on Ganesh Vandana. As the program progressed, the university honored its hardworking staff members, recognizing their dedication and commitment.

The celebration included a variety of performances by students, including vibrant Bollywood dance numbers that entertained the audience.
A thought-provoking stage play was also presented by the students, emphasizing the message that no work is small or insignificant, and every job comes with its own challenges. One of the highlights of the event was a moving poem recited by a student, vividly portraying the life of a laborer.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Prabhat Kumar Pani expressed his gratitude to all university staff, calling them the most vital part of the institution. “It is because of our staff that the university maintains its charm and functionality,” he said.
Dean of the Academic Department, Prof. Dilip Shome, addressed the gathering and remarked, “In this society, every individual is interdependent. Your dedication enables us to focus on our roles.”

Prominent attendees included Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. P. K. Pani, Prof. Nazim Khan, Dean of the Academic Department Prof. Dilip Shome, IT Department Head Prof. Dr. Ranjan Mishra, along with heads and faculty members from various departments, all of whom added prestige to the event through their presence.
The celebration served as a meaningful reminder of the dignity of labour and the essential role of workers in the smooth functioning of institutions and society as a whole.
