Ninth edition of Jamshedpur Half-Marathon set for Nov 24

Jamshedpur, Oct 24: Tata Steel is set to elevate the city’s sporting spirit by organizing the Jamshedpur Half-Marathon 2024, scheduled for November 24. Themed “Run for Fitness, Run for Fun!” the ninth edition of this highly anticipated event aims to inspire thousands to embrace the joy of running while pushing their physical limits.

This year’s event will witness the launch of the Half Marathon, a thrilling addition that will test the endurance of seasoned runners. Alongside this, the event offers a range of race categories, including the Anand Run, a 2-km family-friendly run suitable for all, a 5-km race open to new runners, and a 10-km challenge for intermediate athletes looking to showcase their speed and stamina. The event welcomes both men and women across all race categories.

Total prize pool of ₹10 lakh

With a total prize pool of ₹10 lakh, the Half Marathon alone will reward the top finishers with ₹1 lakh for first place, making it a true test of grit and determination. Tata Steel continues to create platforms for individuals to demonstrate their passion for sports, furthering its mission to promote fitness and healthy living.

“Sport has the power to unite, inspire, and push us to our limits,” said Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice President, Corporate Services, Tata Steel adding that “At Tata Steel, we believe in fostering a culture of sporting excellence, and the Jamshedpur Run epitomizes our commitment to the spirit of competition and community engagement. We are proud to witness the enthusiasm of participants from across the country, who come together every year to celebrate the joy of running.”

The Jamshedpur Half-Marathon is not just about winning—it’s about participation, community bonding, and celebrating the athlete in everyone. The Anand Run encourages families to take part, fostering a sense of unity and fitness among all age groups. The 5-km and 10-km races challenge runners of varying skills, while the Half Marathon allows elite athletes to push their limits, reinforcing the event’s status as a premier competition on the national circuit.

5,739 participants from 18 states in 2023

In 2023, the Jamshedpur Run witnessed 5,739 participants from 18 states. With each passing year, this iconic event has grown in stature, cementing Jamshedpur’s reputation as a hub for sports enthusiasts and fitness advocates.

Tata Steel, through its various running events such as the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K and the Noamundi Run-a-thon, continues to nurture a culture of fitness and sporting spirit in communities around its operational areas.

Expo on Nov 22-23

Participants will also enjoy an exciting Expo on November 22 and 23, where they’ll receive goodie bags, T-shirts, and refreshment boxes, enhancing the overall experience.
