Ranchi, July 3: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Thursday evening gifted Ranchi its third flyover by inaugurating the much-awaited Ratu Road Elevated Corridor.
Spanning 4.18 kilometres, the flyover was formally dedicated to the public as the minister cut the ceremonial ribbon to mark its opening.
The elevated corridor spans 4.18 km, stretching from near Raj Bhavan (Naga Baba Khatal/Naga Baba Ghatal) to OTC Ground via Piska More, covering 3.57 km of NH‑75 and 0.6 km of NH‑23/Itki Road.

Cost & Construction
Total investment stands at around ₹558 crore, including civil works, land acquisition, and utility shifting.
Work began in November 2022 and took approximately 2 years and 7 months to complete.

Design & Features

- Four-lane structure with modular expansion joints designed to reduce vibrations.
- Includes bullet‑proof view-cutters (barriers) installed over a 200 m stretch adjacent to Raj Bhavan.

- Fitted with noise barrier devices capable of reducing up to 95% of traffic noise.
- Under-corridor space features a redesigned service road with drainage, landscaping, and tree planting.

Local commuters can expect travel time on this commute to drop from 30 minutes to just 5 minutes.
